ACT OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNION

Dear Jesus, I love You above all things and I desire to receive You into my soul. Help me to live in a manner worthy of the calling I have received; for by this I may be sure that I know You, if I keep Your commandments. He who says “I know Him” but disobeys His commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him; but whoever keeps His Word, in Him truly love for God is perfected. By this we may be sure that we are in union with You, for he who abides in God ought to walk in the same manner as He walked, following in the footsteps of Christ. (Pause) Lord Jesus, I embrace You, and I unite myself completely to You. Receive my prayer.

Soul of Christ, sanctify me. Body of Christ, save me. Blood of Christ, inebriate me. Water from Christ's side, wash me. Passion of Christ, strengthen me. O good Jesus, hear me. Within Your wounds hide me. Suffer me not to be separated from Thee. From the malicious enemy defend me. In the hour of my death call me. Bid me to come to You. That I may praise You with Your saints and with Your angels, for all eternity. Amen.

My Jesus, I believe that You are really present in the Most Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things and I desire to possess You within my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least into my heart. (Pause) As though You were already there, I embrace You, and unite myself wholly to You; permit not that I should ever be separated from You. May the Body of Our Lord Jesus Christ keep my soul unto Everlasting Life. Amen.
